Dark chocolate coated strawberries

Time 10 Minutes
Ingredients
  • 250g large strawberries
  • 150g dark chocolate (50% cacao), chopped – refer to note in step 2

How to Make It
Step 1

Line a large shallow baking tray with baking paper.

Step 2

Wash the strawberries. Dry using a paper towel and then spread them out on a large plate to air dry. This is to ensure that the strawberries are completely dry before dipping.

Note: Use good quality dark chocolate for best results.

Step 3

To make the chocolate coating, place the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water (don’t let bowl touch the water). Cook, stirring using a metal spoon, until the chocolate has melted to a smooth consistency.

Step 4

Pick up one of the strawberries from the leaves and dip into the melted chocolate. Place onto the prepared baking tray. Repeat with the remaining strawberries. Allow the chocolate to set on the strawberries uncovered either for about half an hour in a cool room or for a couple of minutes in the fridge. They are ready when they are dry to touch – buon appetito.
